Hollywood Wack Job

"It is the sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to carry your mat." He answered them, "The man who made me well told me, 'Take up your mat and walk.'"  (John 5: 10 - 11) It is not many times have we heard that kind of thing when it comes to what we feel God is calling us to do?  It is not lawful, to whom?

I read an article Sunday about Mayim Bialik, who has two young children, is the spokesperson for the Holistic Moms Network and has a parenting book Beyond the Sling:  that describes attachment parenting's natural, child-led approach. She found that when she followed her intuition and relaxed into her role as a mother instead of following some rigid parenting script, both she and her children thrived.

Now her book will not be everyone's cup of Parenting tea.  There will be those who will say its a bunch of crock, she doesn't understand parenting "real" children, she is a Hollywood wack job.  Sounds very much like what the Pharisees are always saying to Jesus: You are wrong and we, who follow the law to a fault, are always right!  I am sure she is viewed as part of the granola set who does not understand the real world, still she is very committed to her children, her husband and their understanding of how their family will work; she is not jumping through hoops to try and please everyone in her circle, or her fan base, or whatever random stranger will say something to hurt her.  No she is staying true to her God given calling.

There are always going to be people who will say that they know what is the right thing to do, but they do not always speak for God.  God has called us to be Priest, Prophet and Queen.  He and he alone has given us the tools, talents, desire, needs to fulfill that calling!  We will always hear naysayers tell us we are wrong; but we must stay the course God has given us and let the naysayers go!

So what have the naysayers ever said to you ___________ ?
